2015-16 Reflections

What a great year for music at MMH.  We are so proud of our little choristers!   Our highlights included singing with the Gold Band at the Mayor’s Christmas Concert, our Evening of Christmas Magic in the gym, joining other west side choirs for the Singing for the Soup Kitchen concert and joyfully singing at the Kiwanis Music Festival.  All the students worked diligently and performed beautifully.  We ended the year with Junior Choir being chosen to represent Lethbridge at the 2016 Provincial Choral Festival!  What an honor.  If you’d like to hear a sampling of some of this year’s songs click performance videos at the top of the page.

As well, this spring a select number of our grade 5 students joined together in an interschool choral / ensemble group (Lethbridge Children’s Orff Ensemble) and performed with the Lethbridge Symphony on May 24th and 25th.  Under the direction of Stacy Skretting these 38 students came together from six different District #51 schools and performed her arrangements of 10 Canadian Folk Songs.  They also had the opportunity to join other local choirs to sing selections from the symphony Carmina Burana.
